Tips Ke Bukit Kutu



Post kali ini aku tulis dalam Bahasa melayu untuk memudahkan rujukan kepada pembaca kerana rata-rata blog berkenan dengan hiking ke Bukit Kutu adalah dalam Bahasa melayu. Pada mulanya , kami membuat sedikit homework berkenan dengan Bukit Kutu dengan membaca beberapa artikel blog tentang pendakian personal. Haram tak ada seorang pun bercerita how the track really look like? , tapi ada blog in English yang ditulis oleh pendaki cina ada menerangkan tentang track pendakian Bukit Kutu  memang sedikit mencabar secara general ( aku tak sangka it is very tough especially untuk orang beginner macam aku ) .  Aku rasa kalau cerita Bukit Kutu banyak ditulis dimana-mana blog. But for this post, I prefer untuk menulis tips dan personal point of view tentang track Bukit Kutu untuk beginner dan intermediate.


( sebab yang expert in hiking pun kata susah Bukit ni macam mana? Sebab tertipu dengan blog –blog yang dibaca dekat google tu)

Persedian Pendakian

1. 2 hari atau sehari sebelum jaga makan, this is very important untuk mengelakan korang rasa fatigue semasa mendaki dan penting untuk endurance semasa hiking (sebab Bukit Kutu is one of the tough hiking I ever had in my experience) Diet mengikut berbeza dengan badan masing-masing.Macam saya, 2 hari atau sebelum saya telah membuat carbs loading awal. (Ini sebab untuk mengelakan semasa hari hiking saya untk pergi ke tandas, carbs loading bergantung kepada jenis badan dan diet masing-masing sebab ada yang akan buat night before dan ada yang akan buat in morning- it’s depends )

2.Water loading secukupnya (mengikut keperluaan badan) sehari sebelum hiking bagi mengelakan rasa terkuncil masa hiking. Especially untuk perempuan yang datang period ,kalau tak period senang nak redah sungai boleh jadi toilet

3. Persediaan gear (barang). Disarankan bawa backpack dimana  dalamnya adalah :

* 1.5Liter air kosong/mineral (cukup untuk sorang, pergi dan balik)

*botol kecil 100 plus (atau air isotonic lain- aku ganti dua botol vitagen warna purple),

*
power gel/power bar,

*
makanan di dalam bekas Tupperware (beli kat mana-mana lepas tu letak dalam bekas karang makanan bau peluh dan ketik)

*
stokin (optional , sebab akan redah 3-4 sungai, sebab salah satu sungai tak ada jambatan)

*
tongkat  hiking (optional)

*glove (optional – yang ni membantu masa nak turun, masa naik aku memang tak pakai pun)

*Plastik lebih ( untuk dijadikan tong sampah atau pelindungan telefon kalau hujan )


4. Mestilah ada sepasang kasut hiking kalau nak dapat endurance yang lama (sebab pendakian akan mengambil masuk 4 jam turun dan naik)



Semasa dan bila pendakiaan :

1. Disarankan datang awal estimate time 7 pagi- 8 pagi lah dah sampai dekat area Kampung Pertak sebab parking limited ( hari Ahad pun sesak orang, by the time kami dekat situ area 8.30++ pagi parking memang macam full house sebab parking dia sama dengan Lata Medang)

2. Sekarang ni nak masuk area kampung Pertak dah kena charge (pandai orang asli ni cari duit sekarang ni). Nak masuk dia kira satu kepala RM1, so kalau dalam kereta ada 3 orang, RM3 korang kena bayar untuk kereta tu.


3. First obstacle  ada 3-4  sungai korang kena redah, satu jambatan dia  nak roboh satu lagi tak ada jambatan ( ikut korangla nak redah sungai atau nak lompat-lompat atas batu tapi aku redah je tapi paling tak best kaki kembang – but lepas melalui jalan pilu ke Puncak Bukit kutu tu….tak yahlah redah yer……lompat-lompat atas batu…nanti nak balik baru rendam kaki)







4. Tak tau hari bertuah ke tidak…tapi bertuah, hari tu ada penjaga Bukit Kutu teman kita orang, so untuk orang muslim jangan risau anjing tu tak kacau pun dan jangan marah dan buat bukan-bukan dekat dia, dia pun makhluk Allah juga. Saya dengan group hiking saya  tak terlepas kena tuah dia hari tu, kasi makan bersuap (sebab dia tak nak makanan dia kena campak kat tanah)  Lepas saya suap biskut direct dekat mulut dia, dia makan.  cebisan tu dia letak sendiri atas tangan sekali tengok macam dia suap makanan dia sendiri.


(Balik hiking terus pergi sungai bertayamum- bukan susah pun).


Kawan-kawan saya kasi dia air, dia tenung satu-satu muka kawan-kawan saya. Apa yang saya tahu, setiap kali kawan-kawan saya hiking, bila nak rehat anjing tu akan tunjuk tempat mana sesuai nak landing. (caya lah…kagum pun ada gak)



Ni pemandangan dibawah Gua Tedung, kalau tengok secara live. Memang bentuk macam kepala Ular Tedung.

5. Check point untuk ke Bukit Kutu ada 9 yang ditandai C1- C9 untuk memudahkan pendakian ( tapi C2,C3,C6,C7 dengan C8 aku tak pula mungkin terlampau focus jalan untuk hiking. (Aku cerita dulu check point , just in case korang nak pergi boleh jadikan benda ni sebagai petunjuk semasa hiking di Bukit Kutu) :

C1 pondok ,depan tu buah boleh makan
C4 Tak silap aku Gua air, tempat dia memang sejuk nak rehat boleh dekat sini sebab sini sepatutnya ada punca mata air (dekat sini masa nak turun
C5 Kawasan batu- batu besar macam Gua Tedung, kat Gua Tedung ni kalau korang berehat dekat bawah tu memang nampak macam kepala ular masa ni hati-hati dah kena panjat dengan tali dia sediakan ,tak silap ada laluan kecil tepi tu

Daripada check point C1 sampailah C4 , trek dia memang menguji stamina dan mental korang. LALUAN DIA SEMAKIN MENAIK –MENAIK DAN MENAIK….. lepas jumpa C4 tu baru reda sikit boleh rehat. Lepas MENAIK!!!

Tips : Tips daripada KaK lina , jangan stop biar berjalan walaupun perlahan especially masa dia tengah menaik. Kalau nak stop , stop pada bahagian landai dan jangan stop lama sangat (paling lama stop pun 3 minit) tapi lepas C5 lepas nampak pokok buluh kami stop 5 minit sebab lepas tu kami nekad berjalan nonstop sampai puncak Bukit Kutu.




Tempat Azab :



1.  Start nampak akar-akar kayu… tempat ni korang kena inhale dan exhale dalam-dalam dan keep going sebab lepas nampak akar kayu ni, trek akan menaik , menaik dan menaik (Landmark : akar kayu ni lepas C1)





2. Akan ada obstacle kayu dan pokok tumbang,  Part ni boleh tahan susah. Dah rasa macam masuk Tarzan Race dengan mad warrior dah. Nak naik susah nak turun pun susah. Masa nilah latihan squat serta leg day  korang berkesan untuk
Membantu korang.









3. Part buluh tu pun boleh tahan juga….boleh tahan susah ,sebab kena menaik dan menaik gak part yang mendatar.




4. Bila dah start nampak batu, start tu akan ada part-part kena pakai tali. Tapi rasanya sebelum nak sampai batu tu pun dah ada part tali, tapi yang tu berguna nanti masa nak turun. (suka hati koranglah kena mendaki pakai tali ke tak tapi hati-hati sebab jalan dia ada yang sangat kecil)

5. Mata kena buka luas sebab ada jalan sempit tengok, tepi je dah ada gaung.

6. Hati-hati tengok petanda, hiker dulu-dulu dah siap-siapkan jalan untuk kita. Bersyukurlah . Ikut jalan yang ada tape. Kalau dia melintang tu janganlah jalan dekat situ maksudnya mungkin lagi susah.

7. Basically , kalau first time naik Bukit Kutu ni memang kena ada stamina. Sebab treck dia agak tricky ( orang yang terror hiking pun kata susah, macam mana?) , bukannya tak recommend untuk beginner. Boleh…tapi kalau stamina ok…oklah korang.

8. Nak turun, pun azab. As a trick  aku guna akar kayu buat tangga. Hati-hati ramai sangat orang terpeliut masa turun  (sila standby minyak panas sebab mostly ada yang cramp dan terpeliut).

9. Nak turun, aku prefer guna glove sebab glove ni sedikit sebanyak membantu masa nak turun ( Aku dan kak Lina manage untuk turun sampai Check point C1 dalam satu jam setengah). Ini sebab boleh pegang kayu-kayu dan akar-akar masa nak turun. Sebab ada pokok yang berduri tu kena sangat hati-hati masa nak turun, nak naik tak terperasan pula pokok berduri.

10. Mata buka celik dan alert , henti banyak menangkap gambar kalau mendakinya seorang atau dorang. Focus mendaki sebab banyak benda pelik korang jumpa. Contoh ulat besar, semut api hutan besar,jalan-jalan ada buah terjatuh etc. (ikut rezeki pengalaman masing-masing)

11. Puncak Bukit kutu ni ramai berebut nak bergambar. Kalau sanggup tunggu kat tangga dipersilakan beratur beramai-ramai.






Personal experience :

1. Masa catatan aku naik dengan Kak Lina 3 jam 4 minit manakala masa turun sampai C1 adalah satu jam setengah. Kat situ kami berehat lama lepas tu badan terus lembik , baru aku tahu kenapa Kak Lina tak kasi rehat lama ( kalau baca blog estimate range time 4 jam turun pun 4-3jam semua bergantung kepada badan masing-masing)

2. Nawaitu aku masa tu memang nak test power training aku, nak biar cikgu-cikgu training aku proud dengan aku yang dorang punya perit lelah ajar aku tu berbayar.Bukan senang nak train aku ni kalau PT luar confirm dah give up.

3. Masa naik tu aku banyak baca surah 3- kul dengan ayat kursi daripada naik mahupun turun lepas tu kalau benda-benda susah aku banyak mengucap “Allahuakbar”, sebab time aku daki tu second day period aku . Mungkin kekuatan datang daripada situ. ( kalau bukan non-Muslim aku percaya korang ada cara korang)

4. As guide, aku on apps tracking running aku , untuk check berapa KM. Estimate distance Bukit Kutu 6KM++ so total naik dan turun around 12KM++. Mungkin dekat situ buat aku dengan Kak Lina bersemangat untuk hit target time.

5. Kak Lina guide aku untuk tidak rehat terlalu lama, estimate time rehat 3 minit atau  paling lama aku dapat berehat pun 5 minit lepas 5 minit buat warm up sikit baru gerak balik.

6. Lastly, aku rasa pasal backpack aku berat hari tu. Sebab dulu Yumi pernah bagi tips dekat aku kalau nak pergi hiking petua dia beg kena bawa backpack . Takyahlah berat sangat, sebab aku nak berat pun pasal nak burn calori more… lagi berat kau bawa lagi banyak kau burn…gitu untuk siapa nak burn fat. Tapi ada satu artikel aku baca kalau kita bawa berat sebenarnya membantu kita untuk mencapai intensity berjalan semasa hiking (cuba baca link ni nanti)




Ni tempat Chimney Serombong asap rumah British Zaman dulu, tempat ni dah dipenuhi dengan semak-semak yang tinggi. Aku tak berani nak masuk dalam cari tapak bekas rumah Bristish  sebab masuk tu aku tengah datang period hari kedua (heavy flow). Benda-benda ghaib ni kita kena respect juga walaupun kita ni manusia.









Nampak batu-batu tu? Tulah puncak Bukit Kutu. Tak mampu aku nak beratur beramai-ramai ke puncak di situ. Sebab dia open air dengan tangga tinggi yang cat rumah tu. ( Tak mampu aku )






Dengan Kak Lina , masa ni lagi 800 meter lagi nak sampai dekat puncak Bukit Kutu.

selera Bajet in KL


Nowadays , everything is pricey in KL when you withdraw RM50 the values same as RM10 and you can feel this especially when you dine out. Duit semuanya keluar macam air, did you feel me? Or just my salary is not  under standard living in KL? Nak cari makan murah, bajet dan sedap taraf lima bintang is quite tricky right now. Luckily, I live in affordable area and I’m feel so grateful . HS Wheat and Grill cafe , is one of the famous western food in Cheras KL that give us satisfaction food from price to taste. This humble store located at Hawker street in Jalan Sembilang, Taman Tenaga ( Landmark near at block Flat Ikan DBKL - that's what local call). People always come here because of their chicken chop, the price of  chicken chop is RM4.90 which is below than RM10. Due to control my weight , I carefully to choose my food during eating outside. At here , you are allowed to control and customized your food. Not just that they will  giving you extra Pasta (with same price) when you like to exchange fries . Price and their portion suit with me ( recommended people who are eat small portion and want to control their diet).




This is chicken grill, this plate suppose come with fries, but I request them politely to change it with coleslaw and they also give me pasta for free. Sayur tidak tak leh letak banyak pun, might be they already carefully sukat.






This is Oglio Seafood that my partner love to order every time she come here. We’re usually request chili flake as condiment . For Oglio seafood’s HS Wheat and Grill café they portion is enough for one person.  I can’t recall the price but  I think it will be around RM6-7 (sorry)



What I love about this place : ³

Running Place in KL

As beginner of 10 KM, I like to do experimental in running route. I learn from my previous route 5km, when you run at same route- you will easily get bored and demotivated. When I ran at different places, I found out each route have different pace. (* pace – according to runner language = consistent and continues speed in running). Here some review place I’ve been run before this:

Tasik Bandar Sri Permaisuri
Near to lake, the route can be considered easy for beginner. Because the path is horizontal you can perform the sprint but beware because some route still under maintenance. For immediate and expert, generally they like to run at incline area. The incline is challenge and some their incline can consider as hills. In early morning and late evening you can see expert runner do their training by running at incline area. I describe them expert, based on their finisher T shirt that their wear and physical body. Army and police also like to run her, I can read from their hair style.
Difficulty level score : depends on your route

Taman Layang-Layang, Kepong
I love to run at this place, this “ Taman” provide all level run type ( beginner, intermediate & expert) . From my personal view, this place suitable to train for all physical fitness challenge especially to whom are looking place to train obstacle run and want to improve stamina level. Unfortunately  , due to this convenient feature this place is full. People love to play kite and sometimes there are lots of event held at here. The best to come at this place during morning between 7.00am to 7.30 am, because at 8.00am you need to park outside.
Difficulty level : depends on your route


Taman Titiwangsa
Between all routes that I ran outside, Titiwangsa is the easier path that I ever ran. From my personal record I able to complete my 5km in 39 minutes.  Just that you need to careful during your run because at here there a lots of small holes that might interrupt your run and cause injury. No wonder before this I saw a lot of people run at outside route instead inside Titiwangsa area. During evening at some place it completely dark. If you run alone (for ladies), make sure choose your path near to crowd.  At here, during weekend morning you can see student like to do their training at here.

Taman Jaya
Difficulty level run score is medium. Easy path, unless you ran at their stair then you can feel the difficulty. Specialty this “Taman”, you never feel lonely at this “Taman” this is because the area was labelled as “Heaven of pickachu”. People come here to catch rare pokemon especially pickachu. I learned and train here with my viper team because this Taman provided mini obstacle similar like viper.

Lingkungan Budi, University Malaya
Difficulty lever run score is Hard, I’ve been ran at here twice during event race. I hardly to score especially when I need to ran Lingkungan Budi’s hills. Most of expert like to train their run at her when I saw them during challenge. I only able to walk, when I started reach hill of Linkungan Budi. You need to have your energy drink if plan to run at here.

Race Padang Merbok
If you beginner and plan to participate run event at Padang Merbok. You need to pay attention on high incline training. Padang Merbok 6KM and above route is very challenging and you need to do homework at least one month. Is not easy to ran at this route and if you looking adventure run you may try it.  The route at here feel like your hiking on it. Padang Merbok harder Lingkungan Budi. However you will enjoy the view of KL s when you at top of the hills plus you can breathe fresh air in the middle of KL.

Sungai Ulu Temu, Batang Kali

Hari itu dapat rezeki menyaksikan sungai jernih dan suci dekat Ulu temu , Batang kali. Sungai tersebut memang cantik dan tidak tercemar lagi. Kali ini adventure saya dibawakan oleh kawan saya Eno yang sememang Nature lover. Eno is very fanatic to waterfall and stream. I thought at first, she want to bring us to Rekreasi Kolam air panas Hulu Tamu.But definetly not...memang kena tracking masuk hutan. Hutan yang tidak nak beberapa hutan yang perjalanan treck cuma memakan masa 10 minit. But untuk menghala ke Sungai Ulu Temu kena melalui jalan-jalan horror serta masuk ke perkarangan kampong orang asli. Hanya Eno sahaja yang tahu jalanan ni ( sumpah aku lupa) . Dan saya tidak beberapa ingat jalanya.But definetly is far away from Rekreasi Kolam Air panas Hulu Tamu… (ke atas lagi)

So kalau nak adventure sedikit, pakai dan bawa kereta yang bersesuai ( bukan lowered bagai ni semua kalau sayangkan kereta).

I believe this is secret hidden place for Eno, Here you need to leave your car behind ( yang pastinya bukan parking lot). After locked our car, we’re walked and pass through at small river. I said to Eno “sini ke?” She give signal Nope…. And guide us to track to the forest. I feel little bit nervous cause I just wearing slipper to track into forest. The funny thing at our left hand carried Mc Donald food. Around 10 minutes walking distance we’re arrive at our destination. During that time , we’re receive a greeting from guest from there said “ Mana dapat MCD ni…delivery ka…. Ada dekat sini ke?” Lolz Ulu Temu stream that Eno brought us last week can consider virgin. Only a few peoples visited to this place and the water is crystal clear water make us tempting to diving into it. We’re enjoying our moment here and menyesal datang lambat . Those who are interested to sleep over, there is  one private chelate  located in Ulu Temu. From what Eno explain to me – if we hike another an hour we will able to reach  Ulu Temu Waterfall which more peaceful and beautiful from stream that we visit.

ª Tips I learned during jungle tracking to find stream ª
1.  Travelling light – only bring necessary things like new cloths after swimming, advisable  to have waterproof gear (example tube bag, Waterproof Gopro, waterproof watch)
2. Study the weather and predict the time to prevent any accident happen example Kepala air.
3. Travel with expert- macam Eno (Lolz memang kaki kipas)
4. Bring suitable food that easy to carry
5. Extra plastic bag for wet cloths and dustbin
6. Respect- masuk tempat –tempat cantik ni jangan lupa ucap syukur kepada Allah. Kalau cantik sangat tempat tu hati-hati jangan kotorkan (smile- you know what to do kan?)

New Routine Workout : Class Yoga

One of my favorite independent gym is Energy fitness studio, that located in Dataran Golmac Kelana jaya. I love their crowd (sebab kalau pergi dekat indepent gym yang lain crowd dia majoriti sombong-sombong . Nak senyum pun susah)  and yoga class. Yoga class at Energy Fitness studio – you can pay during walk in. You didn’t worry about monthly charges- it’s you pay-as-you-use concept. One class estimate time will be around an hour ,that will cost you RM10 only. So after finish the class you can use the gym equipment. The class always start sharp at 8pm every Wednesday. So I’m proud to declare every Wednesday will be my yoga day.













Finally I have some courage to participate yoga after a few years waiting and seeing my friend .  The main reason I enter yoga,  because I get inspire from movie  " Mr. 3000". In this movie, The sportsman was retired and want to continue his game due some his legend issue  achievement  . In line, with imbalance body fat (bam-bam/gemuk ) he can't do weight lifting or heavy training at all  due to lack stamina he’s gaining weight double from his size before. There a lots of things he need to do in lose weight  and yoga is one of the routine he does in this movie ( cepatnya terpengaruh)

Obviously  in next day after watching the movie, I call my friend and want to join the class.( I remember when my weight was under obesity level - I can't  perform at all the position form in yoga). Maybe this is one of the reason why I scared to joined the yoga. Surprisingly when I tried it again with my current weight. I can do it ---yahooo…(but not all form I can bend perfectly, need to admit I have bad posture body).  I know in Malaysia, yoga have some issue about it ( religious issue) . But when I joined the class  there are no mantra at all (like typical Malay gossiping it) . It just movement and stretching your muscle body. The words that I describe “ stretch” sound like so easy. But trust me – It don’t  




During this yoga what I  learn /get :

* After joined yoga , I realize that yoga helps me to focus to do on something. My thought less distracted
* Yoga encourage to relax with proper breath ( I learn correctly to breath J )
*  After class I notice my back pain (other muscle to) stress is relieve

Batman Vs Superman MY Run 2016

Caption :During race kit collection at Citta Mall, baru balik daripada Tarzan Race terus berlari pergi ambil race kit Batman vs Superman pula


What's interesting about this run, you can pick up your own team.You can choose  to be in  team superman  or batman . Furthermore, the price for  both team were same and same to goes as to the category .Only two categories has been open to public which were 5 KM and 10 KM [RM90 early bird price and I grab it without think twice- sooner the price will be increasing, the payment was super duper easy  from their website]

This run, it little bit different from others run that I participated before this. It's my first test for 10 KM. and surprising (shock with my own stupidity)   my beginner 10 KM start with Padang Merbok .  Yup...this run was been held at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. For those who are beginner runner/jog who looking challenging pace. Padang merbok is one of the best place to test your will. Those who are hikers and good in trail run- Padang Merbok is not big deal for them.Padang Merbok route run, have surrounded with challenging lane incline , I amaze to those who can run  with high incline, they must be  have pretty high stamina or maybe they don't have body fat at all (Lolz)


This event from my personal point of view has been organize very well. It might be not 100 % perfect but is ok compare my previously run. What I can said- "bayar mahal-mahal , mestilah kena berbaloi-baloi". Experience worth it. Nice Medal finisher and I got my first timing chip and the important thing, since Padang Merbok is quite tricky, they provide the water station very well. 













I'm very proud with this Batman vs Superman run, because it evaluate my training last two months ago.... what I learned from this run :

* Never underestimate size person - sebab tak semestinya dia besar dia tak boleh lari laju dan tak semestinya dia kurus dia boleh lari. I manage compate a few skinny people during this run . Amazingly! and people who have double size than me...run faster than me (what?? seriously )


* My weakness is hills and high incline  ( I'm bad hikers), need to practice more and I see Tasik Permaisuri hills is one of the best place to train.

* 10 KM is different than 5 KM, after 6 KM you can feel burn sensation on my feet. To prevent this  I use double socks and put on some Vaseline  on my feet before run. (Next time I will invest quality socks only for run)

* Don't drink to much at water station, just sip and wash my face. I have lesson learned during viper arena.  Too much of water will slow you and your heart beat will slowing down.


* Good rest one day and wish "good luck" from friends helps me a lots during this run (love you all - you know who you are)
